This weekend a group attended the Church of Our Lady of Victory: this amazing pilgrim site is located just few steps from the famous 1620 White Mountain battlefield. Four centuries later, we remember the beginnings of the Thirty Year´s War and misuse of religion for political interests. Today, a community of Benedictine nuns prays daily for peace...

We visited a lovely holy place dedicated to Mary. Although it is close to Brno, the country´s second-largest city, the church and monastery of the Order of Minims are positioned in a quiet and beautiful hilly region and serve as a place for spiritual retreats today.

Our guests wished to visit an exhibition about Wenceslas IV, son of famous Emperor Charles IV that was opened at the Charles University. The presentation was very informative and provided insight into medieval politics, religion, education, and culture.

This month was naturally devoted to the theme of freedom and democracy, so most tours were to related sites commemorating these events. As the 30th anniversary of democracy approaches here, a group wanted to see a bit of recent history. They were taken to a really ordinary street to hear about personal stories of people fighting against communism. How exactly did they do it?

Recently we have been treated with several visits to Prague Castle. Either you stroll the gardens, viewpoints, or the palaces indoor, there is something to discover each time. Last week, a group from Texas enjoyed all of these!

Lesser Town

Yesterday we toured a hidden treasure: Lesser Town is right in the centre; yet far away in history. After walking its mysterious and steep streets on a hot day, the group enjoyed a drink in a garden away from the crowds.

Visitors took a great trip to see Stara Boleslav from above. For centuries, the pilgrims come here to commemorate Saint Wenceslas (10th Century), the main patron of Bohemian lands. And they were prepared: they already knew the "Good King Wenceslas" carol and the Wenceslas Square.
